One way to scrapbook on the frugal side is to use your scraps. After you’ve finished a project don’t just throw away the unused paper or even stash into a box of “scraps.” I’ve found that I rarely, if ever, actually use my “scrap stash” when I throw random pieces of paper in with arbitrary shapes cut out. For me, that becomes to much work to see if I have a useful piece of scrap paper to use for another project.
What I have started to do is cut my scraps to useful sizes, leaving off the distracting excess. If the scrap paper is large enough I’ll trim it to 8 x 8 and put it in my folder of 8 x 8 paper. Other sizes I’ve found useful are 6 x 6 (basically any square) and photo sizes (like 4 x 6, 3.5 x 5, or 5 x 7). Sometimes I’ll have just enough paper to cut into strips, which are useful in making borders or accent pieces.
Trimming my scrap stash to useful sizes makes it a lot easier for me to actually use my stash, rather than have it continue to pile up.

Thanks for the tip! It would just “feel” better that way & not get all tangled up.
I have a friend that scrapbooks alot and she throws paper away. But since by dd2 scrapbooks too she saves the paper for her.
